Presenting the brand new RC MAKER SP2 Touring Car - Steel Chassis Kit

Built on a relentless pursuit of designing a unique, innovative and highly competitive touring car platform for professional to novice racers, and everyone in between!

The SP2 has been in development for the past 18 months, while we learnt from the SP1. Despite numerous wins with the SP1 on different tracks all around the world, we identified several areas for improvement, as well as realising what made this car great. This built the foundations for the SP2... keeping it's DNA the same, but re-engineering the design from the ground up.

This particular specification is a steel chassis kit, which comes with PVD Coated 1.2mm Spring Steel 137g chassis, and no centre weights.

Suspension

·        XS shocks and springs for reduced unsprung weight and improved handling response

·        Coaxial shock and pushrod geometry delivers smoother shock action, reduced play, and lower moment of inertia

·        Rigid upstop adjustment via grub screw or screw and shims

·        3mm longer suspension arms with 6mm closer mounting for improved corner speed

Sway Bars

·        Ultra lightweight and adjustable from above

·        Ball-raced for easy installation and removal

·        All front and rear sway bar components are fully interchangeable

Hubs

·        Lowered axle height for a wider height tuning window

·        Direct mounting for analogue and digital caster tools

·        Oversized 6×11×4mm inner bearing for improved durability and reduced play

·        Matched polished balls across hubs and inner arms to maximise compatibility

·        Optimised scrub radius for more aggressive steering response

Steering & ARS

·        Lengthened rear toe link for more linear rear toe gain

·        8.0mm steering rack with optional steering lock stoppers

·        Consistent ball studs throughout for simplified compatibility

·        Low-CG one-piece servo mount with enlarged locating pins for precise, durable alignment

Bulkheads

·        4mm raised top deck mounting for more rigid and progressive chassis flex

·        Raised diff and spool position for improved corner speed and driveability

·        Compatible FL/RR and FR/RL bulkheads to minimise required spare parts

·        Laser-etched belt tension positions

·        Increased arm clearance enabling higher roll centres

Motor Mount & Top Deck

·        Raised motor mount with new mounting positions and equal-length top decks for centralised flex

·        Motor raised 0.5mm to increase chassis material under the motor pocket for optimal flex and durability

·        Screw-in style steel layshaft for improved tolerance and durability

·        Larger locating pins for durable, repeatable alignment

·        Integrated pinion tightening hole accessible from underneath

·        Adjustable front and rear belt tensioners included

·        Optional centre belt tensioner for Modified class

Drivetrain

·        Threaded aluminium diff halves provide clearance for longer suspension arms

·        Lightweight, hardened outdrives and driveshaft components for minimal rolling resistance and wear

Bumper & Body Mounts

·        Low-CG front bumper assembly for improved handling balance

·        Split-style rear body mount for minimised moment of inertia and adjustable bulkhead flex

·        New moulded rear body post spacer reduces weight over the rear of the chassis

Chassis

·        Minimised footprint reduces scrubbing during cornering and under acceleration and braking

·        Three chassis material options available for maximum tunability across all surfaces

·        All three chassis variants use the same 110° steel screws for seamless swaps and simplified spare parts management

Hardware

·        High-quality nickel-plated YFS screws throughout the top of the car for maximum durability and corrosion resistance

·        High-quality steel 110° countersunk chassis screws with a durable 2mm hex
